I am a research-based artist focusing on multi-disciplinary approach to digital human movement..... Since 2002 I've had the privilege of working with motion capture at the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD) at the Ohio State University. This is a place and context for bringing technology to cross-disciplinary creative research and practice. This unique experience brought me to the intersection of disciplines, where ideas cross-pollinate, yield unexpected discoveries and synergies. Working alongside artists, designers, choreographers, engineers, computer scientists, musicians, theater makers, psychologists, medical researchers, linguists, and more — each experience has been enriching the substance of my own practice. In these collaborations, I have moved between roles of a visual artist and animator, researcher, instructor, producer, maker, technologist, scholarly writer (gasp!), playful explorer (yes!), always an eager learner. Whether developing project concepts, troubleshooting technology or dreaming up the new ways to visualize the unseen, my work has been guided by curiosity and the transformative potential of a never ending dialog. On this site you’ll find a selection of collaborative projects in which I shared a leading role, alongside personal works that chart my own creative explorations.
